I was out of stock with my regular watercolor papers so this time I dared and ordered US Art Supply 300 lb. Watercolor Pad. OMG! I was totally upset with paper quality but at the same time I don’t want to waste the money I have invested in that paper pad so I decide to do practice work on in that book.

Let’s see how it goes, I’ll keep you updated my further experiments and results 😉 😀

Have a great weekend!

  1. Lovely painting. I have some 300lb paper which is more like card. Apparently it can take a lot of water without buckling. Very good for pouring or working with granulation medium. Don’t give up on it!

  2. Thank you for the follow and I am pleased to meet you (cyber style). too bad about the paper, I am a paper snob and I do have my favorites, so disappointing to paint on poor quality paper…at least it is 300# which is my preferred weight. Your painting is loose and I like how you varied the flowers with their color, very smart and intuitive. 🙂

    1. Hehehe same here pleased to meet you too. Thank you 🙂 🙂 Ohh yes actually I thought of this, that I shouldn’t waste my good quality colors on them 😉 😀 By the way what type of paper or brand do you use for WC painting?

      1. I’ll give you my most current favorites 🙂 first is Saunders 200# which to me acts like 300# it doesn’t buckle at all. It is a dream to paint on because it is soft and receptive. If you work with granulating colors, it is magical. Then I love Fabriano Aritistico next but sometimes my love switches between the two. Arches is last on the list. I have used it for many years but it seems ho hum to me but it is a high quality paper, well worth it.
